I have been watching nothing but Vikings for the past 3 days I have watched all 3 seasons and it is OFFICIALLY MY FAVOURITE SHOW EVER!!! OMG @.@
I am gonna talk a little about it I will try to stay as vague as possible so if there is a part you want to read what happens I will put a * and what happens in the show below if you dare to read the spoilers.
Vikings is literally like Game Of Thrones except it is soooo much better than GoT!! My fave character died* and I cried so hard omg DX and for the rest of the season it's just the feels, sooo many feels!
And I can't wait for season 4 especially with how season 3 ended season 4 is gonna be crazy oAo I'm mostly waiting to see Ragnar and King Ecbert meet again because they have some major news** to share with each other.
I'm also really confused by the ending of season 3 because it kind of strayed from what the seer said would happen*** with the Frankish kingdom.
Also the languages 0.0 with old English I can just barely understand some words they're saying, and cause I'm learning Swedish I hear similar words when the characters are speaking Norse like 'alskar', 'nej', 'bjorn' etc. [sorry I'm not putting the proper accents on these guys I still have to install the Swedish language on my laptop I've been meaning to do it for a while X3]. And the old French is the best one because I can literally understand at least half of what they're saying like "wow French hasn't changed as much, has it?"
And I know some people will accuse me of only liking Athelstan over Floki because Athelstan was a Christian and Floki was a pagan and I am a Christian but to be honest with you guys that I am 100% rooting for the Vikings. I'm staring at the English men getting killed like "look at those sissy farmers I have to call my ancestors" [honestly I am not too proud to be English descendant, I'd rather be a Viking any day =p]. But I love how balanced the religions are in this show, they never say that the Christians nor the Pagans are right, and they show both the good and the bad of each religion and I deeply respect the writers of the show for that! That's also the reason I like Athelstan was because he was torn between the two religions and I actually agreed with him when he asked why they couldn't both be right. [Honestly I am like a very agnostic Christian XD my family is not too happy with that]. I honestly liked Floki up until around the end of season 2, then he started getting a bit weird. And the rest is spoilers so go read it there if you wish.****

SPOILERZ!!!!!
*Athelstan noooooo!!! I freaking hate you Floki!! ;~;
**King Ecbert has yet to learn that Athelstan is dead and I wonder how Ragnar will react when he finds out Athelstan had a son. I am really hoping for this scene omg more feels are coming to haunt me.
***Rollo seems to be the one about to marry the French princess and while the seer did say he had something great in store for Rollo but knowing Rollo's past romances [first Lagertha then Siggy] first I think it won't come to be and second the seer said beforehand that Bjorn would marry a princess so I think it's actually Bjorn who is meant to marry this princess [unless some other princess happens to come along then idk].
****I stopped really liking Floki when he started saying that he didn't like being in a happy family and giving his daughter a pretty bad name. But then he choked Helga and killed Athelstan and I'm just like "nope I hate you now Floki". It had really nothing to do with his strong belief in the gods or anything, in fact I understand why he felt he was right to kill Athelstan and were I raised to believe the same gods as he did I would probably have agreed with him. But I wasn't, so give him the blood eagle!! [but for all we know Floki may be that guy who ended up discovering Iceland so wooo hooo buddy you get to go down in history T.T]
Also when Floki killed Athelstan he drew the mark of the god Loki on his forehead with Athelstan's blood, as well as how he disappeared and seemed like just a dog when he passed Rollo on the way I think he may have been possessed or controlled by the trickster god Loki. Which would also explain why Floki's ladders and leadership during the first attempt at Paris failed and when he said the gods were against him. Loki could've probably had Floki kill Athelstan to go against what the other gods wanted, maybe while even resenting the gods and returning to be a Christian, Athelstan was still in favor with them like they meant him to be a part of some big fate. But as anyone who has seen until the end of season 3 knows that Athelstan's death just motivated Ragnar even more.
